Land of Big Numbers: Stories

By: Te-Ping Chen - Read: December 3, 2023 - Rating: 8/10

A mixed bag of stories; some are good while others are reasonable. It is particularly good to hear the "empathetic" side of Chinese stories. The story of Chinese industrilization is repeated a thousand times. This covers the humanistic side of the story — a university student's life who protests using blogs, a British women who visits her Chinese husband's home for the first time, the mysterious fruits that gain popularity and lose distinctiveness within a season, the innovator who creates new things but cannot convince local government to take up his idea, and more.
